This photo was taken at Ayers Rock Resort, not far from the famous rock known as Uluru or Ayers Rock. As you can see the sky has turned red. This was caused by the high wind whipping up dust into the atmosphere.

In addition to turning the sky an unusual colour it also obscured visibility, which is why no one spotted the bush fire raging out of control nearby until it was close to the Resort. Shortly after this photo was taken the entire Resort was evacuated, with tourists being driven through the fire to the nearest place of safety, which was the local airport.
