Since 1984 been a full time commercial/advertising/PR photographer with my own studio. I've been published thousands of times for what it's worth - which is probably quite a lot as it's been my only source of income.
PurplePort is where I come to experiment with new ideas/techniques
Published in/worked with Twisted Edge, Bondatrix, Max Power, Arena, Maxim, T3, Fast Car, BASF, Daily Star, French Connection, The Sun (Page 3), Times, FT, Telegraph, Home Cinema Choice, Tattooland, Voyeur, Arena, OK, Hello, Diver, Mayfair, Hobbs, Fiesta, Redline, British Museum, HM Treasury, Gillette, Denon, Kenwood, Guiness, Black Eyewear, QVC, Premier Foods, FHM & many others whose names I've forgotten.
Also offer photo training & consultancy on studio design & refurbish/service HiGlide installs having set up several studios over the past 30 years.
Re working with models, sometimes I pay them, sometimes they pay me, or we collaborate - it really depends on the project & my workload.I also collaborate with other photographers, so if your localish pm me I don't bite.
Models please don't message me telling me how much you love my images & want to work with me & then quote your rates. An honest "looking for paid work" spam PM is preferable to fake flattery any day Smile
Sending me invites to studio days is a waste of time since I already have a half decent studio of my own.
Boring stuff
Generally I shoot between Monday to Friday 08:00 - 18:00 but with a bit of planning or if a location or shot idea needs it, evenings or weekend.
You may be required to sign a model release.
If shoot is of an adult nature I'll require government issued photo ID.
Paid shoots - Generally will require an invoice/receipt. Model may get copies of images after publication. If a paid shoot is cancelled for dubious reasons I have no problems leaving a negative reference.
TF shoots - I normally give the model a set of proof images to select their favourites for me to edit. Number of finished edits depends on the time spent shooting, the number of concepts & complexity of editing involved to finish the image, though once we've worked out what we're doing I would tell you in advance. Generally it is around 6 - 8 per two hours shooting.
Postponing a TF shoot - if either of us get a paid shoot booked on the day we have a TF shoot planned either of us can postpone the shoot & take the paid work - we all have bills to pay so I don't leave negative reference if the model gives me notice.
Fully insured PL/PI/EL
Chaperones - if you're under 18 not a problem - if commercial work must be parent or legal guardian to sign releases/contracts.
