Ik fotografeer en maak kunstbewerkingen van vooral portretfoto's die ik ArtPhoto's noem. Ik wil dat mijn foto's bijzonder zijn, in de compositie of de belichting, een beetje vreemd of kunstzinnig. Dat probeer ik te bereiken in de fotografie én in de digitale nabewerking. Mijn uitdaging is dat elke foto altijd zó aan de muur moet kunnen hangen dat je er met trots, ontroering of plezier naar kunt kijken. Ik werk in een besloten studio-omgeving waar ik alle controle over licht en compositie heb.

Een ArtPhoto is een artistieke bewerking van een portretfoto. De bewerking noem ik 'fotofusing'. Dit houdt in dat er meerdere foto's met elkaar 'versmolten' worden. Het is daarbij niet meer duidelijk waar de ene foto begint of de andere eindigt. Het resultaat is een surrealistisch beeld. Een kunstwerkje dat het verdient aan de muur te hangen.

My name is Henk Bouckaert, I work under the name FotoKunstig, based in The Netherlands. I photograph and make art edits of mainly portrait photos that I call ArtPhotos . I want my photos to be special, in composition or lighting, a bit strange or artistic. I try to achieve that in photography and in digital post-processing. My challenge is that every photo should always be able to hang on the wall in such a way that you can look at it with pride, emotion or pleasure. I work in a closed (studio) environment where I have complete control over light and composition.
An ArtPhoto is an artistic editing of a portrait photo. I call the editing 'photo fusing'. This means that multiple photos are 'fused' together. It is no longer clear where one photo begins and the other ends. The result is a surreal image. A work of art that deserves to hang on the wall.
