Hugh Porter, one-time BBC cycling commentator, had a habit of alliteration, and the phrase "triumvirate of talent" was one he used whenever possible. Rarely is it more appropriate than when describing these three. This photo was taken at the signing-on prior to Stage 2 of the 2012 Tour de France. Within three weeks Bradley Wiggins (left, in green) would have become the first British rider ever to win the Tour de
France and a few weeks later would win an Olympic gold medal in the Time Trial; Mark Cavendish (middle, wearing the rainbow jersey of reigning World Champion road racer) would, in that same three week period have won three more TdF stages on his way to being the holder of the TdF stage win record; and Chris Froome (right) would win his first ever TdF stage, before going on the following year to win the Tour outright for the first of four times.
