A number of my images have been flagged for review. Some of them for months now, so it's obviously a long and complex process.
While I can see why one or two of them might warrant review in the opinion of some people (though not me obviously, otherwise I wouldn't have uploaded them in the first place), others I find frankly baffling.
I'm not entirely sure of the practical effect while we await a ruling from on high, although it appears that it's impossible for people to interact with the images in any way. By that I mean that it's not possible to "Like" any of these images, or post comments on them, nominate them as starred images, etc.
However, as far as I can tell, you can still see the images in an album or just in my portfolio, but if you click on them you'll see a message telling you the image is under review, rather than seeing the image itself. Which seems slightly weird, but hey, at least you kind of get to see them, even if you can't get any of the important info, like who the model is, or where it was taken, or most especially, what type of camera I used. Because that's the first question everyone asks, right, "What type of camera did you use?"
The other main effect is that the moment they are flagged for review they are immediately summarily disqualified from the IOTD competition if they've been entered into it. If you've ever wondered why the sum of the votes cast for individual images sometimes doesn't match the overall tally, this is why. Images have been disqualified after the voting has started, and after votes have been cast for those images. Similarly if you've wondered why I haven't entered an image in IOTD, the answer is that I did, but it was removed from the competition.
Anyway, in the meantime, enjoy these images while you can, before they finally get thrown out. Or not, as the case may be.
